If it were a few hundred years ago, my sewing skills wouldn't be considered "creative," but rather, a necessary thing to survive in the world. Cooking from scratch wouldn't be as special, because everyone would do it because there would be no box kits. In fact, any skill you had that was special would be considered a trade and would be your full time job.
Today, we have machines and factories make everything we need. Handmaking things is a dying art. Is it still in our nature to create? I do think so, but it is our very same creative, inventive nature that is making us no longer need to do it.
Question: Is it still in our nature to create or have we outgrown it?
