There is an anime called Hetalia: Axis Powers that has grown in popularity in these past few years. Based on a webcomic, Hetalia focuses on personified versions of various nations and their interactions with each other. The countries are incredibly stereotyped - the United States eats only fast food and butts into everyone's business, Japan can't pronounce its Ls properly, and Italy is portrayed as a coward.While I personally am a fan of the series because it's so ridiculous, I find myself wondering, "Is it okay to say this stuff because no country is left alone?" It's quite clear the creators of the show are discriminating, but do we discriminate more than we like to think?
Take the website Pick the Perp. It is an online game where the website gives a crime and five mugshots and the player must try to correctly guess who was charged with us. The game requires you to discriminate and find out who was guilty. While all the people on that site were arrested, don't we as people act wary around people we find suspicious? I think we discriminate a lot more than we like to think. Sometimes, it goes to the extreme.
